association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and
emphasizes to students that it is essential to learn how to
learn. ACBSP acknowledges the importance of scholarly
research and inquiry and believes that such activities
facilitate improved teaching. Institutions are strongly
encouraged to pursue a reasonable mutually beneficial
balance between teaching and research. And further, ACBSP

the Professional Alumni Division for business people,

Lawson
State Community College has been a VITA site for more than
15 years (Under the direction of Ms. Alfreda King).
The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to
moderate-income people who cannot prepare their own tax
returns. Volunteers sponsored by various organizations
receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in
communities across the country. VITA sites are generally
located at community and neighborhood centers, libraries,
schools, shopping malls, and other convenient locations.
Most locations also offer free electronic filing.
